I had a really frustrating time fixing errors related to Windows “net view” command as well as seeing other computers running SMB service in the “Windows Network” explorer.
Issue
- Network explorer will not show any Computers
- “net view” command would result in “System Error 1231”
Solution
- Ensure all the computers are set to the same WORKGROUP. In my case, it is “HOME”
