Bliss, Michigan

Over the Labor Day weekend, we made a trip up north to see Mackinac Island, and Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. We stayed at an Airbnb in a seemingly unknown town of Bliss, which is about 20 minutes from Mackinaw City. The experience turned out to be a great one, and we learned a thing or two about the town. The town of Bliss probably has a hundred or so people who live there. There is a …

Mackinac Island

We made the trip to Mackinac Island during the Labor Day weekend. It was our first time at the Island, and we loved it. Getting there – we boarded a ferry, and took our bicycles with us. You pay $30 per adult, and $15 per bike. Didn’t have to pay for Oliver’s ticket since he is under 4. We did StarLine as opposed to more popular Shepler’s. Also, we paid $15 for dock side parking. …

You just need to show them a photo …

Soo Locks

It was fun to watch large freighters pass through the locks on their journey to/from Lake Superior. This was our first time at Soo Locks, and first time in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. It was definitely worth seeing, and we’ll come …

Dresser Makeover

Before Our dresser as shown above in the photos went through a major makeover. This was always the plan, when we bought this used dresser off Craigslist. The original tan color was all worn out, and had marks all over. Worse thing is that the drawers were in horrible shape, with the old fashioned rails which were broken and would sag if drawn out. When Oliver started messing with these drawers, I knew it was …

Over the weekend I decided to try out Apple Music. We’re invested in Apple ecosystem – have 2 Apple TVs, both wife and I have iPhones, and Apple Watches. I own MacBook Air, and a Mac Pro, and recently we bought a HomePod mini getting rid of all Alexa’s. With the HomePod mini, received a 6 month trial of Apple Music so decided it is time to try. Wife had already been trialing Apple Music, …

A Day Trip to Port Austin

Just randomly the Chauhan household minus the dogs decided to make a day trip to Port Austin, and The Thumb area of Michigan. If you don’t know what The Thumb is check this out. Port Austin is about 2 hour drive from Chesterfield, and the drive is mostly Hwy 53 with some gorgeous country side views. Along the way there were lots and lots of agricultural flat fields which makes sense considering this region has …
