2022 Reading Challenge

My 2022 reading challenge was 10 books. I ended 2022 with whopping 12 books read, that’s 120% of the goal and 1 book every month. I definitely over performed in 2022, maybe I set the goal too low, while I thought I had a stretch goal, considering in 2021 I only achieved 75% of my goal (6 out of 8 books). Last year I wrote that I was glad to have made it to 75% …

2021 Reading Challenge

My 2021 reading challenge was 8 books. I ended 2021 with only 6 books read, that’s 75% of the goal and 1 book every 2 months. I seem to have failed in my challenge and for sure I would be considered one of the slowest readers out there. However, 2021 was also one of the toughest years. While for the records, pandemic was still ongoing, which adds to stress in itself. My family in India …

Friday the 13th, A Sneaky Baby, and One Wild Ride

It all started on a fateful Friday the 13th—because of course it did. Mama Abigail had a routine ultrasound appointment at the Eastside Gynecologist in Macomb when the doctors noticed that baby’s heart rate dipped into the low 90s and stayed there for a few seconds. Concerned, they advised her to head straight to Beaumont Hospital in Grosse Pointe. Meanwhile, Daddy was waiting in the parking lot, probably scrolling on his phone, when he suddenly …

Closure to mario game

So as a kid growing up in India, I had my father’s 80486 computer with MSDOS 6.22 installed. In there I had many Shareware games installed that I had purchased from a local computer shop. One of the games was, Mario. This was a clone of Mario Bros you will find on Nintendo. I didn’t have a game console growing up so this 80486 computer and Shareware games was the only way I would play …

Flowers in her hair

I’m in love with Gravenhurst. The cryptic lyrics and guitar creates an aura that is just amazing. Here’s another of their gems: she wore flowers in her hair and all the town would stare and all the young girls followed picking up the petals strewn everywhere and when the flowers died they saw through the disguise and all the townsfolk circled her with prayers and tar and feathers and fire there’s a dog loose in …

CATS the musical

Saw CATS the musical at the Fisher theater yesterday. Was blown away by it. I’m not a musical kind of guy but this performance was simply amazing. Seeing it first hand confirms why  CATS has been one of the longest running shows in the world. Photography wasn’t allowed inside the theater so no photos or videos; sorry folks but I do have a couple of shots of the Fisher theater inside.

Mutton (Goat) Curry Recipe

This is my Indian favorite. The typical red meat in India is Goat meat and it’s called mutton. This goat curry is spicy and very tasty. Bonus it’s very easy to make if you have a pressure cooker like Instant Pot. Ingredients 1 lb of goat meat (Frozen is OK) 1/4 cup Meat Masala – I like Shaan Meat Masala. You can get it at any Indian store 2 cups sliced onions 1 cup tomato …

Egg & Veg Chow Mein

Who says spaghetti can’t be used to make Chinese style Chow Mein! Made Chow Mein from scratch tonight with mixed veggies (pepper, onions, cabbage, mushrooms and and celery) and 3 eggs. Topped with Sriracha and with a side of egg roll. It turned out to be very yummy and better than some of the Chinese noodles I’ve used before.
